The Halloween event starts this week! Here's a peek at one of the spooky new costumes that will be available in the in-game store!

Is it just me, or do I see 3 bats floating around?

The bats, skeleton, and guillotine are in the background. Looks like a new outpost. Or maybe decorations for Embark Beach?

I think that would be rather nice.
If we're getting Hobgoblin Costume, then we best get a Carnage Costume.

I was thinking it resembled that mirror monster from the old Conan movie.

My only complaint about this is that I'm not playing it right now.
Definately looking forward to the new costumes and hopefully some new content this Halloween.
As for shinta_himura, quit whining. As many have said, you don't have to pay for any of this in order to play the game.

Those costumes keep getting better every year.
I only plan on playing GW for the Halloween, Wintersday, and WoC/content updates(moved on to other games after 5 years). But I'm still going to buy the costumes. Just those events are worth 10-20 bucks to me. I cant believe someone that still plays regularly, can complain about a cosmetic micro transaction.
Anyway, see you in Tyria when the Halloween update drops!

Halloween avatars are the only costumes I will ever consider buying from the in-game store. My favorite holiday.

So I think we've established that there are lots of skull-faced cloaked villains around. It's probably just a cool design. Either way, I won't buy it. I never buy costumes...seems silly. Can't play with them, and after all the work I put into customizing my characters, why would I want to look exactly the same as anyone else that wears the same costume?
Here's hoping we get an awesome new quest chain that adds Mad King Thorn or Menzies or someone as a FoW boss.

I love the holiday series next couple of months. Halloween is just a (great) start.
I don't think Anet is greedy at all, all kinds of free stuff and a great game to spend some free time.

Does anyone know when the event is meant to start - its now thursday in the uk and it seems anet has yet again somehow forgotten to put up an event notice.
The only event notice ive seen is on wiki and even thats unconfirmed tho it has no dates given - i think its the generic halloween page.
